Question Plans for more recent versions of OS?

Sorry if this has been answered previously, but I notice that the provided versions of the OS in the plans
    ie
    Debian 3 / Fedora Core 2 / Redhat 9 / Redhat Enterprise / Suse 9

Current release of Debian is 3.1
    RHEL 4
    Centos 4.2

    etc.

Are these available or are there plans to move to them soon?

    Thanks,
    John

    John,

The operating system choices available on Spry's VPS hosting plans are limited by a couple of factors. The first limitation is that an OS version must be supported by the Virtuozzo software that divides up the host node into VPS virtual environments. Second, some control panels are not compatible with some operating systems.

Debian 3.1 is actually currently available on Spry's Webmin VPS hosting plans.

How about CentOS 4.2 on a webmin VPS? Is it possible to upgrade to this?

    Adam,

Centos 4.2 on webmin is currently not an option for us on the Virtuozzo software. The Virtuozzo team is working on updates and upgrades to allow the Virtuozzo software work with more current operating systems like Centos 4.2.

When their software is ready for primetime use we plan on offering at Spry.com
