    Default DNS servers down? (64.79.200.111-113)

    Hello,

I noticed that my sendmail queue has stacked up a few hundred messages, and when I investigated further I found that the dns servers in resolv.conf were both down. The IP addresses are:

    nameserver 64.79.200.111
    nameserver 64.79.200.113

I confirmed that neither were responding to pings. This doesn't seem to be a temporary problem, it has been going on at least since Thursday.

I've restarted xinetd just in case, but of course that isn't the issue. Are their alternate DNS servers I can use?

    Yours,

    David

The nameservers at 64.79.200.111 and 64.79.200.113 are caching nameservers we provide for our clients' use. I have checked the nameservers and they appear to be running fine.
    Code:
    -bash-3.00# dig yahoo.com @64.79.200.111

    ; <<>> DiG 9.3.1 <<>> yahoo.com @64.79.200.111
    ; (1 server found)

If you are still having trouble it would probably be best to submit a ticket so that we can take a look at the problem.
