    Default mysqld down

    I have a current support request in for this, but I thought I would check here for any help. I just ran the WHM automated page for mysql upgrade from ver 5.1 to 5.5. Now my mySQL daemon will not run. it fails with "error while loading shared libraries: libaio.so.1:". I have tried rebooting and that didn't help. After searching google, I tried to SSH and run "yum install libaio" and that command executes okay, but the first mirror says "forbidden" and after that it says "no more mirrors - exiting" or something similar. any help? our site has been down for hours. thanks!

    Have you tried running a yum update?

    Yes, I tried running a yum update. it came back and said that it couldn't find any mirrors. I put this in my trouble ticket, and Spry said:"The yum repository you are using is a legacy repository that we no longer maintain. You'll need to update your repo list". Any quick advise on how to do that? Spry also provided some links that I'm going to check out as well.

    Which repository options you have depend on which OS you're running.. Are you running CentOS, Fedora, etc.? If so, which version?
    To find out, if you don't know, run:
    Code:
    less /etc/*release*

    I was able to find this related post on the VPSLink forums (Spry and VPSLink are the same company) - I recommend you backup any files that you change:

    you simply need to edit the /etc/yum.repos.d to the default ones. here is an example

    [base]
    name=CentOS-$releasever - Base
    mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=os
    #baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/
    gpgcheck=1
    gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

    #released updates
    [updates]
    name=CentOS-$releasever - Updates
    mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=updates
    #baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/updates/$basearch/
    gpgcheck=1
    gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

    #additional packages that may be useful
    [extras]
    name=CentOS-$releasever - Extras
    mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=extras
    #baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/extras/$basearch/
    gpgcheck=1
    gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

    #additional packages that extend functionality of existing packages
    [centosplus]
    name=CentOS-$releasever - Plus
    mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=centosplu s
    #baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/centosplus/$basearch/
    gpgcheck=1
    enabled=0
    gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

    #contrib - packages by Centos Users
    [contrib]
    name=CentOS-$releasever - Contrib
    mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=contrib
    #baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/contrib/$basearch/
    gpgcheck=1
    enabled=0
    gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5
