Default Metered vs Unmetered, a brief explaination.

I often field calls from folks that don't understand the differences between metered and unmetered bandwidth on our VPS plans. Since there's no real clear explanation listed on the website, here's what it all means:

Plans that offer Metered Bandwidth give a set amount of usable monthly data transfer (i.e. the our cPanel VPS 300 allows 250GB of monthly bandwidth). Any overages of the monthly allocation are billed at 50 cents per GB.
Metered plans offer throughput of up to 8Mbps.

Our Unmetered Plans are just that... unmetered. There are no restrictions imposed on the amount of bandwidth you can use each month. Having the freedom to transfer data eternally comes at a price, however; throughput speed is restricted to 1.54Mbps. Still speedy by many standards, but not as fast as the metered plans.

Hopefully this will demystify the difference. If you have questions, give us a call or drop us an email. We're here to help you choose the plan that's right for you!
